Betws-y-Coed, at the mouth of a beautiful, wooded gorge and close to the broad valley of the Conwy River, provides a perfect base for a walking holiday. The River Llugwy cuts dramatically through the village in a chain of swirling pools and waterfalls, easily appreciated from the riverside paths and ancient stone bridges.
As a part of our work, we regularly visit locations to check for developments that may affect our walking itinerary - forestry works, path closures and new paths opening, newly-agreed permissions to allow access, etc.
We check out other aspects of the holiday, too: cafes and loo-stops, the best eateries in town, great little picnic stops where a packed lunch can be enjoyed while gazing at an inspirational view. It’s all part of the job!
With spring well on the way this week (the magnolia in the hotel garden was in bloom and the daffs were in full flower), Snowdonia was looking full of promise for the year ahead.
We look forward to our stay at the Gwydyr Hotel for our Summer in Snowdonia walking holiday June 10th-14th. If you’d like to join us, you can find a full itinerary and details of how to book here.
