*This is a Grade 2, 'Easy to Moderate’ walking holidays, designed for those who would like to walk for 5-6 hours in a day, and 3-4 hours on a half-day. Routes usually involve only gentle ascent and descent, and all walking is on good paths with no technical difficulties. Our aim is always to take our walks at a steady pace, stopping for breaks and to admire the views. Especially on this winter programme, we will aim to keep as dry and warm as possible whatever the weather!
ITINERARY
DAY 1: Join us on the arrival day by 2 pm for a local walk to get to know the others in our group and the environment close by. For those who are unable to arrive by then, join us for dinner at 6.30 pm, after which we will talk through our planned programme. (6 km, 3 hours walking)

DAY 2: We walk a circuit of Buttermere Lake and Crummackwater, two idyllic Lakeland locations, stopping off at the Buttermere Hotel for coffee. Above us, Red Pike and High Crag bristle with rocky outcrops while waterfalls tumble down their flanks and into these picturesque lakes. At the head of the lake, the pyramidal Fleetwith Pike guards the central fells. These hills provided a suitably dramatic location for the film Mission Impossible 7. (12 km, 5 hours)

DAY 3: We walk a circuit of the Langstrath Valley, home of wild and beautiful locations including a long chain of idyllic pools. Our route takes us to the picturesque Tray Dub, a crystal-clear pool and a perfect, remote lunch stop. In winter conditions, the waterfalls on Langstrath Beck can become impressive torrents - a great photo opportunity. (12 km, 5 hours)

DAY 4: We walk from the hotel to complete a circuit of the nearby Seathwaite Valley taking in Sourmilk Ghyll waterfall and the hamlet of Seatoller. This is a great route to finish on – a last chance to take in the stunning views around Upper Borrowdale. We aim to finish our programme by 1.30 pm. (7 km, 3 hours)

Please note that the above itinerary is subject to weather conditions being favourable. Our aim, above all, is to make the right choice each day so that we enjoy the most appropriate route for the conditions.
