The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a challenge offering rewarding hikes that passes through some of England’s most breathtaking mountain scenery. Taken individually, one a day, these classic summits provide memorable ascents in an area of outstanding beauty, fascinating geology, and unique flora and fauna.
This challenge is ideal for those who are fairly regular walkers and who are comfortable with some uphill walking taken at an easy pace. Our aim is to take time to enjoy our walks – stopping for breaks and photos – to enjoy the experience rather than race through it!
This is also an area rich in history and heritage. As we climb Whernside, our trail takes us alongside the famous Settle-Carlisle train line and the majestic Ribblehead Viaduct. On our descent, we pass the historic 12th century remains of the little stone church at Chapel-le-dale.
The moorland teems with birdlife (lapwings, curlews and buzzards to name a few), the grasses are jewelled with colourful moorland flowers, and the stunningly weather-carved limestone pavements provide sensational geological features.
Our customers tend to be mostly solo travellers, although couples and friends are most welcome, of course. If you already have your own group of 4 or more, please just contact us if you would like to discuss a bespoke walking holiday.
This famous challenge is an ideal way to end the summer walking season on a high. Join us to bag The Yorkshire Three Peaks on October 2-5th this year.
