The sunny weather this week is giving us some great sneak-previews of what is to come! Spectacular views of Cat Bells, Derwentwater, Skiddaw and Blencathra are seen here from the Maiden Moor ridge, a superb day-hike from our base at the Glaramara Hotel, where we will be staying for our North Lakes & Borrowdale walking breaks April 25-29th and July 25-29th.
The route is a real favourite of ours; an hour or two of steady uphill walking leads to the summit of High Spy and to panoramic views across Borrowdale and Newlands valleys. Then the walk along the ridge to Cat Bells is almost effortless strolling but with breath-taking vistas left and right.
