July Walking Holidays

Hiking at this time is a great way to make the most of summer, to get a little more walking-fit and at the same time enjoy the company of others out in the fresh air and with inspiring scenery.

Long days and warm sunshine make this a very special time in the Lake District. The hills are filled with lark-song and grazing sheep, and it is a perfect time to catch the summer flowers that welcome bees and butterflies.

The gardens at Rydal Hall, where we base our Lake District walking breaks, are at their best at this time. This beautiful 30-acre site is famous for its bluebell woods, flower meadow and waterfalls. And it suits us perfectly, as so many fantastic walks begin right at the front door

This is the time when trees are in full summer leaf, the grass is a deep, cool green, and the colours of sky and water are at their most intense. It is a popular time, and so there is a sense of holiday and celebration. Admittedly it can rain in summer, too! But this just adds to the drama of the numerous waterfalls.

Hang up your keys for the week! – no car needed : Comfortable single en-suite hotel accommodation : Guided walking with everything taken care of.
