Autumn Colours Walking Weekend in The Lake District

Autumn is a really special time to walk in the Lake District, where there is a rich variety of woodland species to give every shade from deep greens to luminous yellows and golden browns. The waterfalls are lively, the woodlands have a deep earthy aroma, and the snug warmth of hotel comforts at the day’s end are much appreciated.

Our venue is Rydal Hall, whose grounds are nothing short of spectacular, being once a Victorian tree-collector’s paradise and now enhanced with superb gardens and woodland. It is the ideal walking base for colour-hunters.

Our main walks will be in the Grasmere and Langdale areas, all designed to take us through the best of autumn locations in this stunning part of the Lake District.

Most of these photos were taken during last year’s Autumn Colours Weekend. Join our small group this year for 3 days/ 4 nights over the last weekend of October (27th -30th). All walks will be guided and will be of ‘easy to moderate’ level which means we will be on good paths along valley walks with some ups and downs, but all taken at an easy pace.

A full itinerary and details of how to book are here. Hope you can make it!
