We can’t even claim that our mountains have attracted the worst of the recent weather, as they sometimes do, as there are still people in low-lying areas of the UK without power, and others enjoyed/suffered far more snow than fell here in Cumbria. But the topping of white (which is still there) and the clear skies that followed the winds lit up The Lakes with some brilliant views. We took this shot from Torver Beck below the Walna Scar Road. From left to right, it shows Buck Pike, Dow Crag (my absolute favourite Lakeland hill) and The Old Man of Coniston. Fantastic walking conditions if you take the right kit for staying warm and upright!
